Overall pace of tour was very good. Most of the touring sights & hotels were very good. Local entertainment at hotels was very good. Beautiful floral arrangements everywhere at the hotels. Yoga lesson was a nice touch. Pedicab ride was very exciting. Great shopping experiences. Food was good to exceptional.

Top 10 Great Things: 1. Taj Mahal 2. Resorts (especially the Oberoi Amarvilas with a view of the Taj Mahal from our room, the Oberoi Vanyavilas with its' luxury tent accommodations, the 18th century Jai Mahal Palace Hotel with our massages and royal carriage ride, and the Taj Lake Palace Hotel in the middle of Lake Pichola.) 3. Greetings (LOVED being welcomed at the Delhi airport with a lei of marigolds, receiving beads made from the mud of the Ganges River along with an Aarti ceremony in Varanasi, being showered with rose petals at the entrance of the Oberoi Vanyavilas, and feeling like a maharani walking under an umbrella when greeted at the boat dock in Udaipur.) 4. The people. So welcoming, generous, and kind. Wanted photos with us everywhere (especially Susan~~tall and blonde!) 5. The puppet show at the Jai Mahal Palace. 6. The animals on the tiger safaris and getting to pet and feed the hotel's rescue elephant (Lexmi) in Vanyavilas. 7. Visiting 6 UNESCO historical sites and hearing our first names sung inside the Taj Mahal. 8. Remembering our loved ones by lighting and floating diyas on the Ganges. 9. Suprises: receiving hand drawn tiger eye from the artist M.D. Parashar, enjoying the musicians (playing a drum, harmonium, and castanets) and dancers at the Taj Lake Palace, high tea and roaring fires in the Oberoi Vanyavilas, complimentary yoga classes at the Leela Palace and Oberoi Vanyavilas in addition to our complimentary yoga session on the rooftop terrace of the Taj Lake Palace. Receiving farewell gifts (a marble inlay jewelry box from the Oberoi Amarvilas and handmade incense sticks from the Taj Lake Palace). 10. Fabulous guides: especially Mr. Aditya Rastogi in Agra (and the unique photos he shot for us), "Giri" in Jaipur (super accommodating), and "Yemini" in Mumbai (best "American" English speaker of all. Very knowledgeable and easy to understand). Singer "Natasha" at Vetro (Italian Restaurant in the Oberoi Mumbai)--truly unforgettable.

Our guide Giriraj Singh Shekhawat was as knowledgeable and engaging as the best university professor you ever had! He educated us on the sites and the culture and history. Our driver was perfectly teamed to Giriraj and was always on time and courteous. We have travelled extensively in Europe and never taken a tour before. We used Private guides and drivers etc. We thought India would require a tour. It was deficitley the best way to experience India We would definitely do a A and R tour again.

Recently finished 12 day Land of the Maharajahs tour in northern India. Can't say enough about our guide, Giriraj Shekhawat and his faithful and professional driver, Satendra who accompanied us the entire time and provided stellar service and support to our intimate party of 4. We enjoyed and were educated about all the usual tourist highlights but also ventured off schedule, always with our consent - sometimes at the suggestion of Giriraj and sometimes at our request - to take in additional cultural and historical highlights. Giriraj was incredibly knowledgeable and disarmingly personable and left us all with newfound appreciation of the country and its people and culture. Highly recommend!
