Bangkok’s Buddhist temples are world famous and this tour takes us to three of the most unusual ones that this city has to offer. We start at the ornate Wat Trimitr which is situated at the end of buzzing Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road, and also near to Hua Lampong train station. This temple is home to a vast invaluable Golden Buddha that weighs five-and-half tons adding to this remarkable site. Next is the largest temple complex in Bangkok, Wat Po, which has an impressive reclining Buddha that is 46 metres in length as well as ornate chedis. No temple tour is complete without a visit to the gleaming Grand Palace which is one of the most beautiful examples of a traditional Siamese Court. Previously the residence of royalty, there are a number of different venues for different occasions including the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House and the famed Emerald Buddha Temple

Following lunch at Supatra House, board a long-tailed boat along Chao Phraya River for a tour that takes you along colorful sceneries and the busy daily life of Bangkokians, through waterways transportation. On the way, make a visit to Wat Arun, known as Temple of Dawn, one of the most famous icons of Bangkok. Afterwards, board a Tuk Tuk to Wat Hong Rattanaram, a temple built during the late Ayutthaya period on the banks of the Khlong Bangkok Yai by a rich Chinese named Hong. The temple was named after its benefactor, hence the names Wat Hong, Wat Chao Sua Hong or Wat Chao Khrua Hong. When King Taksin decided to locate his new capital further in Thonburi area, he patronized this temple in the royal support since it was a religious educational centre. The temple received a major renovation during King Rama III, with the principal Buddha statue in Lan Xang art style enshrined and named "Phra Saen". Another interesting point in the temple is the sacred holy water pond. Following, proceed further to Wat Pichaiyatikaram, whose ubosot, the temple hall, has a roof that resembles a Chinese carriage hood and has no chorfa (a final tip on the roof, typical of Thai temples). We will end up our tour with a visit to Santa Cruz Church to experience and feel the influence of Portuguese and Chinese cultures since hundreds of years ago. Meals B+L
